With access to a wide range of inventory and logistical expertise, we bridge the gap between surplus and need, turning generosity into real-world results. Our History

From Creative Reuse
to A Place For Good

2008 — The Beginning

Community advocate Lisa A. Hernandez founded the Depot for Creative ReUse in Long Beach, California — a vibrant space where art, education, and environmental sustainability came together. It quickly became a beloved hub for artists, educators, and eco-conscious creators.

Over the years, the Depot's impact extended far beyond the art community. It inspired a movement rooted in creativity, kindness, and the belief that even the smallest resources can make a big difference.

2025 — A New Chapter

Lisa passed the torch to Cory Lundquist, a local artist and long-time supporter. With deep respect for the Depot's legacy, Cory began reshaping the mission to address broader human needs — supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, uplifting underprivileged youth, aiding victims of domestic violence, and helping other nonprofits doing good in the world.

Today — A Place For Good

This evolution brought about a new name: A Place For Good. Our focus now expands beyond materials — we're in the business of giving second chances, whether through a warm jacket, a donated supply kit, or simply a moment of hope. And while our mission has grown, our creative spirit remains firmly at the core of what we do.

'A Place for Good' supports charities by providing essential goods and resources to uplift underserved communities. We have a unique inventory advantage that allows us to provide tangible goods needed by charities that would otherwise not be available.
You can support us through monetary donations, donations of goods by the pallet or truckload, volunteering, or sharing our mission with others. Every form of contribution makes a real difference to the frontline charities we serve.
As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN: 26-3966214), your contributions may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You will be provided with a receipt for your tax purposes. We recommend consulting your tax advisor regarding your specific situation.
We partner with frontline organizations focusing on impactful, community-driven initiatives. We prefer to work with those with "boots on the ground" so that our donation of goods will see the most impact. We work with any organization, big or small, that is committed to fostering change in their communities.
